Politehnica University of Timișoara (UPT), a partner in the Accelerate_FutureHEI project, invites the public to European Researchers’ Night 2026, an evening where research, digital innovation, and city heritage come together.
On 25 September, from 18:00 to 23:00, visitors are welcome at two venues in Timișoara: the UPT Technical Museum / ExperimentariuTM (Splaiul Spiru Haret) and the Nokia Campus (21 Republicii Boulevard). Admission is free.
The evening offers a hands-on look at how universities are shaping the future of education and innovation. Alongside interactive experiments, virtual reality tours, and augmented reality games exploring Timișoara’s history and culture, visitors can discover the practical results of two European projects UPT is part of: the E³UDRES² Alliance and Accelerate_FutureHEI.
UPT is one of nine partner universities working on the Accelerate FutureHEI project to become more entrepreneurial and innovative institutions. Researchers’ Night provides an opportunity to meet the public face-to-face and show, in a very tangible way, what institutional transformation looks like in practice: from digital tools built by students and researchers to new ways of engaging citizens with science and heritage.
Visitors to the UPT Technical Museum will also get a short presentation on Accelerate_FutureHEI and its Institutional Transformation Acceleration Projects (ITAPs), the roadmaps that guide each partner university through hands-on change, supported by expert coaching.
