International Digital Skills Workshop

The Politehnica University Timișoara (UPT), through the Digital and Distance Education Department (DeL) and the Multimedia Centre, together with the Alliance of European Universities E³UDRES², with the support of IEEE Education Romania and projects Accelerate Future HEI and LECTURE, successfully hosted the 10th edition of the International Digital Skills Workshop 2025: Developing Digital Skills for Resilience. The event, held in a hybrid format on December 12th, gathered over 800 participants (65 on-site and over 750 online) and featured 18 international speakers.

The event featured experts from Romania, Ukraine, Germany, Spain, and Italy, focusing discussions on the EU’s Digital Competence Framework 3.0 (DigComp 3.0) and digital resilience. A special component was the participation of university professors from Ukraine, who visited Timișoara as part of the Erasmus+ LECTURE project to facilitate the exchange of digital best practices. To recognise participation, online attendees received Digital Competences Workshop 2025 Open Badges, while physical attendees received Certificates of Participation.

The sessions were highly interactive, as participants addressed questions both from the audience and online via Zoom and tools like Menti were used in order to facilitate dialogue between physical and virtual audiences. Speakers from Tor Vergata University of Rome, Beuth University in Berlin, The Joint Centre of the European Commission, the European Digital Education Hub, Politehnica University Timișoara, „Ioan Slavici” University of Timișoara and Ukrainian universities HS Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University, Kharkiv, Vinnytsia Mykhailo Kotsiubynskyi State Pedagogical University and Berdyansk State Pedagogical University centered on topics such as the EU’s DigComp 3.0  framework, AI, Robotics, and Blockchain.

The Accelerate Future HEI project was presented to over 800 attendees (both on-site and online) through a dedicated session, led by Dr. Diana Andone, director of the Digital and Distance Education Department within the UPT, who detailed the achievements and impact of the project, underscoring how this initiative supports UPT’s journey towards becoming a more entrepreneurial and innovative institution while developing a culture of innovation.
